Updating resume post SA--how much detail?
Should you include case/client names? Or just vaguely describe projects?

You should def not include client names. Breaching confidentiality is not a great way to impress a potential legal employer. I did descriptions of what I did, e.g. drafted pleadings and motions, such as answers, RFPs, etc.

I don't think including case/client names necessarily breaches confidentiality at all, considering it becomes public information as soon as something's filed that the firm is representing that client, firm websites often include cases and client names on attorneys' bios, etc...
But it also doesn't really add anything to the resume description.
Edit: didn't mean to post anon, used to posting in clerkship/employment threads.

No case/client names.Anonymous User wrote:Should you include case/client names? Or just vaguely describe projects?
If applying for clerkships:
If K-JD, perhaps a short general description of what you did/practice areas
If not K-JD, name of the firm, city, and if an offer was extended.
SA's all pretty much do the same thing...

If the client is impressive, give general details about it that would seem impressive. Just like here when we want to be vague and use vault ranges instead of the actual firm, say Fortune 500 company or something like that. Also, depending on where your SA is, its going to be fairly easy for any potential employer to figure out what kind of client you were working with. Only the big companies care to/can afford to hire V10 firms.Anonymous User wrote:Should you include case/client names? Or just vaguely describe projects?
