Silly Question About Grade/Class Rank Cutoffs
This is probably a pretty silly question but here goes. If your school lists the 90th percentile GPA as 3.615 and your GPA is exactly 3.615, can you say that you are in the top 10% of your class? Thanks, and again, sorry to be so obvious, just want to make sure I'm doing this right.

Even if you weren't technically top 10%, a little bit of fudging is part of getting a job. Everyone understands this, and if you're not ready to hustle you're not going to be successful.
But regardless, the odds are that you are the last student in the top 10%, which is why they've listed your exact GPA.

Yes, because it is accurate. If you were .001 below then you could not, but if they list that cut specifically then you have made it.Anonymous User wrote:This is probably a pretty silly question but here goes. Congrats. That is a great place to be. You have now earned more leeway to be boring in your interviews.

False. Do not "fudge" your resume. At all. Ever.gyarados wrote:Even if you weren't technically top 10%, a little bit of fudging is part of getting a job. Everyone understands this, and if you're not ready to hustle you're not going to be successful.

Fudging is almost always done in job descriptions. "Worked in a leadership capacity _____"LOLyer wrote:False. Do not "fudge" your resume. At all. OP is fine here because he/she is indeed in the top 10%.Anonymous User wrote:Fudging is almost always done in job descriptions. "Worked in a leadership capacity _____"LOLyer wrote:False. however, lying/fudging/whatever about something easily verifiable (like top 10% when your school publishes percentile cutoffs) would be unabashedly retarded.
