Does anyone know if any firms bump compensation or bonus for passing the patent bar?
Did any firms formerly do this but stop after 2008ish?

No bump, must be able to sit as pre-req for that practice area.

Re: patent bar bump?
Pre-2008 firms did generally give bonuses for passing, or for having passed when you joined. A partner actually had suggested to me back in the day to not take it until I was working at a firm so I could make sure I got the bonus. I haven't heard of any doing it lately, though most firms will still pay for you to study for/take it as far as I know, but coming in with it done is one less thing to worry about, so taking it before may be worth it.
