Cold calls

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Jul 11, 2012 7:27 am

I'm from a T-30 school (well-respected) on the East Coast, but I want a summer associateship in SF (my hometown). The students I've talked with from my school said that they got jobs in SF by being really aggressive and calling the hiring coordinator. If I were to do that, what exactly do I say? "Hi, I submitted my application earlier in July, and I am really interested in a position at your firm. I plan to be in the area in August in case you were interested in doing an interview." Anything else?
