This is a stretch, but did they give any indication to him that they were still in the process of extending offers? I.e., should I give up hope?grrrstick wrote:Confirmed. 3L at UT, but one of my 2L buddies was very pleased to get his offer from LL.Anonymous User wrote:Can someone else confirm Locke lord Houston?

I think the best way to know about LL is if they start dinging people, and you don't get dinged

Re: Texas OCI (and non-UT students bidding on TX firms)
Has anyone heard back from any of the following firms after OCI: Baker Donelson, Bickel Brewer, hogan lovells, Reynolds Frizzel or Latham & Watkins?
It's been a month and I'm starting to get antsy. Also: I don't have any info on when the following firms will get back to me following callbacks. Any info on: Baker McKenzie (Houston and Dallas), Gibbs & Brunn, Susman Godfrey?
Thanks!

When you say heard back, are you talking about CBs or Offers?straberi93 wrote:Has anyone heard back from any of the following firms after OCI: Baker Donelson, Bickel Brewer, Hogan Lovells, Reynolds Frizzel or Latham & Watkins?

Gibbs and susman are still doing callbacks. Offers will go out after all CBs are done.
Bickel has their CB weekend this weekend (or next) can't remember exactly. Offers will go out after that.

Re: Texas OCI (and non-UT students bidding on TX firms)
I haven't heard back from the first five firms about CBs following OCI. I've haven't heard anything on the last four on offers after CB interviews.
Thanks for the update on Bickel.

Deciding between JW (D), TK (D) , and a national satellite office (D). Thoughts?
Not sure about Trans vs. Lit, leaning towards the former.

BB: miserable place to work - everyone leaves when they get the chance. Very very uptight/stuffy atmospher. Diversity associates especially don't like it.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Good luck to him. FJ: better - but little focus on transactional work.

I would recommend TK for sure, thought it depends a little bit on which satellite office we're talking about.Anonymous User wrote:Deciding between JW (D), TK (D) , and a national satellite office (D). Thoughts?

Re: Texas OCI (and non-UT students bidding on TX firms)
If we're talking about K&L Gates, I don't think the decision is a close one at all. K&L's corporate group is dead. JW is not known for their corporate work. TK has a great culture and has strong oil & gas and real estate practices. TK's corporate group is a little weak but better than the other two I would think.Anonymous User wrote:Thanks, any reasons in particular?Anonymous User wrote:I would recommend TK for sure, thought it depends a little bit on which satellite office we're talking about.Anonymous User wrote:Deciding between JW (D), TK (D) , and a national satellite office (D). Re: Texas OCI (and non-UT students bidding on TX firms)
I think the decision is a bit more nuanced than that and totally depends on your desired exit options. In-state or making partner? probably better to stick with a TX firm. If your goal is to maximize pay in a shorter amount of time or for out-of-state lateral opps, then the national satellite is prob the better bet.Anonymous User wrote:If we're talking about K&L Gates, I don't think the decision is a close one at all. My guess is that they made a few offers and are waiting to hear back before making more offers. Only speculation, though, as there is only one poster who has an AK (Dallas) offer.Anonymous User wrote:what is the deal with AK Dallas offers? Are they still handing out offers?

What exactly is JW known for? Lit? Also, they seem to have a great culture and got a good vibe when I had my CB.Anonymous User wrote:If we're talking about K&L Gates, I don't think the decision is a close one at all.
