Interview help - I bombed my favorite class.
I heard the question what class I liked most/least gets recycled a lot at OCI.
I know this question isn't a brain-buster but I bombed my favorite class. I can explain why it was my favorite but not why I performed badly.
Should I play it safe and talk about classes I booked and why I liked those?

It really depends on which answer you can sound most genuine giving. Stick with that one. You want to sound genuine and winsome.

Re: Interview help - I bombed my favorite class.
I lied. I took everything I liked about my favorite class (which I got a pretty mediocre grade in) and acted like it applied to the class in which I did the best. I lied about what was my least favorite class and why. I lied when asked questions such as, "Tell me about the last time you were in a group and the group faced an internal dilemma." I lied about why I went to law school. I lied or hid the truth about where else I was interviewing / which firms I had callbacks from. I lied about my general impression of law school so far. I lied about why I was most interested a particular practice area. OCI turned out extremely well for me.

Pro-tip: For interview purposes, Legal Writing is your favorite class.
The tricky part is making up a half-way believable reason why you enjoy it so much.

This is contrary to everything I've heard from biglawyers. Also, is there a reason you need to be anonymous to give this questionable advice?Anonymous User wrote:Pro-tip: For interview purposes, Legal Writing is your favorite class.

For the record: I was never asked what my favorite class was in any interview.

If someone asks you this, just answer it honestly. It doesn't matter. They'll see your grades no matter what, and it's not like they'll be happier with your B- if you lie and say you hated the class.
