What's with all these windsor recommendations? It's far too bulky for a lot of contexts, depending on how thick the tie is, how wide the shirt collar is, what your face looks like . . .
Go half windsor. It can be used for anything, and it's easier to tie. Four-in-hand is also acceptable, but the asymmetry annoys the Hell out of me, both on myself and when I see it on others. I strongly prefer the Pratt for small knots.
Also, leaving your tie constantly tied will damage it, leaving permanent wrinkles at the least. Seriously, if you're going to be a lawyer, you should learn how to tie a tie.
