do you know how much experience you must have before you can become a cja lawyer?

Perhaps it's required that the lawyer have sufficient basic legal research skills to determine the answer to this question before becoming eligible for appointment under the CJA. Seems to me that the CJA itself might contain an answer for you. There also may be some sort of guidebook courts use to apply the CJA that may have answers.
If you think you may end up being a CJA appointed attorney, why not take this opportunity to brush up on your legal research skills? Try google. After all, you'll need those skills to not commit malpractice while you defend your indigent clients. Good luck!
