Changing cities 3L OCI
CCN top third (or higher) SA 1L and 2L summers.
I will probably need to change cities from NYC to another major market.
2L firm does not have an office in the new city (think LA, Chi, DC).
1L not able to accommodate.
SO will be doing residency in new city.
How tough is this generally?

Anyone? Sorry for the impatience but I would like to start this conversation so I can have another reason to procrastinate on my exams.

Different poster here. Also curious if there are diversity fairs, etc. for 3Ls that anyone knows of. Have an SA this summer in a city I don't want to stay in.

Also interested in this. Assuming we get offers at our 2L SA, how easy is it to change cities during 3LOLCI?

Re: Changing cities 3L OCI
You just have to wait: (1) until you possibly get your 2L SA offer and (2) until firms decide how many extra SA spots they have open (either from SAs being no-offered, or from SAs trading-up to other firms).Anonymous User wrote:Also interested in this. Talking to a firm now won't do any good. There is no process to get started. You already have the one substantial pre-requisite for 3LOLCI, already having SA-ed at another firm.

It could actually end up hurting you if your 2L firm gets wind you are looking in other cities and decides to no-offer you for disloyalty.Anonymous User wrote:. . . Talking to a firm now won't do any good. . . .

Does this actually happen? it would be one thing if you had actively started interviewing, but would a firm no-offer for making connections/looking in another region?

Somehow I doubt it.
But does anyone have experience with this at all?
