2L Poll - Where are you working this summer?
2Ls, where are you working this summer?
***I updated the poll and took out the option for viewing the poll even if you are not a 2L. PLEASE DON'T VOTE IF YOU ARE NOT A 2L. You can view the results by using the little blue link below the poll.***
Thanks.

There should be an option for in-house counsel/business, DA/PD, and split options.
I am doing gov't + RA (part time.)

Good call. Changed poll. You can pick two options now.Anonymous User wrote:There should be an option for in-house counsel/business, DA/PD, and split options.

Is DA or PD a common choice for 2Ls?

It is not rare. It is not going to be nearly as many people who work in firms, however. See the Prosecution/PD gunner thread.RobotGardener wrote:Good call. Changed poll. This information is interesting, but it is hard to know how representative it is.

It isn't representative of the larger law school community but the numbers are probably relatively close to the 2Ls that frequent TLS.2LsAPlenty wrote:This information is interesting, but it is hard to know how representative it is.
Apparently, TLS is heavily skewed towards students at the top of the class who want biglaw.

You can count on this being among the most unrepresentative polls a 0L considering law school could come across. Its like going for a visit day to a T10 school, going to a law review meeting, and asking where everyone is working

Agreed, but that is the type of people that post on TLS.Anonymous User wrote:You can count on this being among the most unrepresentative polls a 0L considering law school could come across. Where's the options for "solo practitioner" and "starting my own business?"

Agree with this.Reprisal wrote:Plaintiff firm should get its own cat
Also, please define the difference between biglaw and midlaw. NLJ 250 = biglaw? Or Vault? Certain number in the firm/office? What is it?

Ahh. Isn't that the eternal question?romothesavior wrote: please define the difference between biglaw and midlaw. NLJ 250 = biglaw? Or Vault? Certain number in the firm/office? What is it?
I thought self selection would be the only fair way to have people determine that. There is definitely no bright line.

Well then everyone is gonna say biglaw, myself included, although I'll fully admit that my firm is somewhere in this gray area.RobotGardener wrote:Ahh. It is too bad we cannot get a snapshot of the law schools in general to see if the boasting about employment remains true in any material respect. My guess is beyond the top tier and big law positions, the jobs for 2Ls is not quite as rosy.

April time, which means the RA and PI positions will start filling up and beef up those percentages (or should if people actually poll).
