Why do you want to work in a law firm?
I was asked this in a biglaw interview recently, and I really didn't know what to say. What should a typical response to this question sound like?

You want to work with bright colleagues on sophisticated matters that, well, matter. You think your best shot at getting that is in private practice.
It's a simple game, homes.

Because when you graduate from law school you (generally) know crap about how to practice law. You want to work alongside great lawyers with experience and strong reputations to learn all the things about practicing law and particularly working in particular practice areas that you cannot get from books or other opportunities.
Additionally, law firms generally provide more stability than small practices or hanging a shingle and offer better opportunities for advancement and professional growth than most government positions.

TITCR. Everything else is stuff you say to convince firms that you actually want to work there for any other reason.reformed calvinist wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEX25L4C2X0#t=0m21s
