Transferring office at S&C
Hi there!
I just started dating a guy who's going to work at Sullivan Cromwell after finishing law school in a few months. Do any of you know generally how difficult would it be for him to transfer to the Palo Alto S&C office? How would this impact his career? Would it be looked upon badly by the company? I would love anything about how transfers work and are viewed in big law.
The reason I ask is I live in CA and have no intention of moving, and we just started dating, so there's still plenty of opportunity to end things amicably.
Appreciate the help in advance!

What tipped you off that he works at S&C? Was it the bag he was toting?
Seriously, though, this is one of those questions you should really email recruiting about. You can find their email on their website, and tell the recruiter you're e-mailing on a guy's behalf, a guy whom you just started dating.

I bet he has his eye toward a clean break too, but after a few more months of boning you.

So this guy just started dating you, and you think he's going to move to the boring city of Palo Alto, so he can date some 26 year old with a busy schedule, rather than move to a big city and have his choice of 18-22 year olds who will have all the free time in the world for him. Really?

Have we met in real life?rad lulz wrote:The lawyer in question ought to move. Lawyers are fairly unlovable due to being miserable, cynical assholes, so Mr. S&C ought not to pass up this opportunity for love.
