Summer in Palo Alto 2012
Good morning!
I will be working at dla piper in Palo Alto this summer and was wondering if anyone has any apartment suggestions for the East Palo Alto area (late May- early August). I was hoping to search NALP's Apartment Exchange but am unable to locate the website. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

You do not want to live in EPA for any extended period of time. Your best bet is probably somewhere in Mountain View.

Mountain View over Palo Alto? What about Stanford sublets?

Stanford Sublets would be Ideal, Santa Clara University isn't too far away, maybe look for sublets there as well. Redwood City/Menlo park could be considerations too, however 2-3 month leases over the summer aren't easy to find unless its a university sublet.

I was thinking more along the lines of affordability. MV is more affordable than PA, and if OP is looking in EPA, cost my be a factor, as I can't imagine another reason of wanting to be in EPA.Anonymous User wrote:Mountain View over Palo Alto? What about Stanford sublets?

A TON of SLS kids will be looking to sublet their year-long leases in Munger. It's expensive, but it'll be very easy (and less than 15 minutes from the DLA office). I'd try and get in contact with Stanford housing to see if they can put you in touch with anyone trying to get rid of their room for three months.farmernate wrote:Stanford Sublets would be Ideal, Santa Clara University isn't too far away, maybe look for sublets there as well. Would you mind sharing roughly when you interviewed/got the offer? I'm waiting to hear back and curious if they might still be making offers.

I'm interested in this topic as well for SV. If anyone has some tips on where to search for sublets and the best timing when to do it, it would be very helpful.

You guys should also check out Sunnyvale for fairly nice and relatively cheap housing.

Not at all - and thank you everyone for the above suggestions.Anonymous User wrote:Would you mind sharing roughly when you interviewed/got the offer? I'm waiting to hear back and curious if they might still be making offers.
I interviewed in mid-September and received the offer the following week. However, I am not privy to their interview timeline and am sorry I can't answer as to whether or not they are still making offers. Fingers crossed for you!
