isn't it strange, though, that this guy did not finish in the top 1/3 or top 1/4 of the class ?

Maybe he had a great 1L gpa and just slacked 2L and 3L. Who knows?

if he had a great 1L GPA even if he slacked 2L and 3L he would have manage to pull cum laude.
it was before 2009 and it was not as if the whole class would be gunning for honors.

Not really. Top 15%-20%, with median gpa entire 2L/3L wouldn't get you cum laude.

oh well... at our school you will, if you pull 15% in you first year and then drop to "median" afterwards.
because everybody got somehwat higher GPA/ grades after the first year.

One can reasonably infer that he did not have top 1L grades anyway.

From what I can tell he 2L Summered at a v40 firm in 2008? I'm guessing he was one of those unlucky ones who got no offered during that shitstorm year.

I wonder why?
I attended UT Law on full-tuition merit scholarship as a Townes-Rice Scholar. The Townes-Rice Scholarship was awarded to only 5 students out of the more than 400 students in the 2006 incoming class. My LSAT Score, 176, was in the 99th Percentile.
Oh yeah, that's why...

no, I don't think this is the reason. I've seen douchier people. changing their FB status to something like "I am summering at .... and will work there permanently soon ... (hopefully haha!)" there are douchier things.

Yeah.

Talking about the scholarship isn't douchey and I think he only has the LSAT score up because he worked for 2+ years at a LSAT prep company after graduating from law school.

Had a potential employer specifically ask about my score, which I thought was strange. That's what prompted my question. Not the drugs...this time.

come to think of it it makes sense to put more on your public resume when you are running your own business.

talking about douchiness, I happen to know some really douchy 3L at my school. Not surprisingly, they worship and/or work for the douchiest (aka high-profile) professors.

An employer straight up asked for your LSAT score during an interview?

Not during the course of an interview, but during some back-and-forth leading up to it.

Just mentioning the name would be okay, but the 5/400 thing is a bit much imo.

i'm guessing it went something like this:

Interviewer: "So, how has OCI been going? Have you had a few interviews already?"
kTXe: "Yes, thanks to my above-average grades. I knew I'd have a leg up on my classmates thanks to my superior LSAT score, since the LSAT is a better predictor of law school success than GPA. I'm glad my first semester grades have proven once and for all that I really belong here."
Interviewer: "Right...just so I have this straight for when I e-mail my colleagues about you later, what was your LSAT score exactly?"
