Preselect at Spring OCI (1L) = reasonable chance of job?

Post by Anonymous User » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:50 pm

Do firms only pre-select people they would actually consider hiring for their 1L summer, or do they interview you just to "get to know you" for the fall? (I had one mass-mailing related interview that began with such a statement).

They will probably do 50-60 screening interviews for every offer they give. Pre-select means that you meet base requirements, nothing more.

Possible, not probable.

Think about how many people at your school got preselects. Then multiply that by the amount of schools the firm is likely to be interviewing at. That's the # of people you are competing with.
