1L 2L Top 10 SA Markets
Looking for a quick sample on where the legal world is offering 1L and/or 2L paid positions. If you have been offered a paid position (or called in for an interview), check off the market. If you have a SA position and your city isn’t on the top 10 list, plz note the market in text.
Since only 10 choices are available, the Texas markets (Dallas-Ft. Worth-Houston) were combined to make room for other major cities. Also, since some may have interviews in more than one city, you can select up to three markets.

I guess there is no way to mark one city 3 times.

What's the point of combining 1L and 2L SAs together?

Fair question. Thought of doing just 1L, but 2L also made sense. Especially since certain threads claim 1L SA positions [ITE] are scarce. Finally figured that knowing about market activity might be useful, even though NYC will obviously be the most active, by far (as already evidenced).
Also thought that those outside of the major cities might offer their input.

If you play with the NALP forms a little you will get much better data.

Are there any DC firms other than Jones Day that are/were interviewing 1Ls for this summer that are of a similar or higher "rank."*

Quasi useful is a good way to put it. Although with a minimal response, I am a bit surprised that San Fran and the Texas markets are doing as well as they are, considering all the gloom and doom those cities receive on TLS. A bit of a ditto on Miami (I read so many distressing threads on Florida, almost passed on Miami). NYC far and away #1, no surprise to anyone.Anonymous User wrote:*Recognizing that the whole ranking thing is stupid...but still quasi useful.
