So I missed out on a biglaw job during OCI and have two offers right now. Wondering if some people wanna weigh in and help me out with making a decision. Both are Unpaid.
The DOJ's US Trustee Program oversees all bankruptcy filings in the country. I'd be working in a regional office in the central-southeastern US (GA, TN, AL), not the headquarters in D.C. The upside is that its a federal internship and Chapter 13 work and I'd be able to work with the USAO there too. Also, I'd have more luck finding a small to mid size bankruptcy firm that I can work at and probably make more money once I graduate. Downside, not in a city I'd like to move to and bankruptcy is more boring to me than prosecution.
DA office is in a southeastern, coastal city (SC, NC, VA) with a population of around 100,000. I'd get a third year practice certificate and prosecute my own cases by the end of the summer. Also, I have family in the area who are attorneys and can possibly hook me up with some interviews in the area when I begin looking to start a legal career. Downside is that in the long and short term, I'd probably make less money than sticking with bankruptcy, or with the federal government for that matter. But I do really like being in the courtroom. I also like money. Also, it's in a city I'd consider moving to.
Well those are my two options right now. Both I'd be happy with. I've had luck with people giving me good advice here before. Just wanna know what you all would do if you were in my place.

This really isn't a question for us, it's a question for yourself. Do you want to take a run at BK or at prosecution? I know what I personally prefer, but that's pretty irrelevant.
