Has anyone else experienced one of these? What is appropriate for jeans day? nice jeans, tucked in dress shirt, and maybe tennis shoes?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say jeans. Maybe a polo.

You've misunderstood the value of the 5XL hoodie.srfngdd6 wrote:+1 but show your boxersFeelTheHeat wrote:
Wear regular clothing and when asked about it say you forgot? Then you will have the information you need.

I keep seeing this and thinking Jones Day. I hope your firm is Jones Day, so that you can change this tread title to "Jeans Day at Jones Day." Even though I might be the only person that finds that amusing.
Anyway, as for appropriate attire, the bottom line is that you should still look put-together. That means nice jeans (proper fit, with no holes, bleach stains, ect) and a polo/button-up/sweater for guys. I also don't think sneakers are appropriate. You probably still need to wear dress shoes.

I would go jeans + polo in nice weather, or jeans + tucked in shirt + v-neck sweater in cold weather. And yes, where dress shoes.

Where I worked in Corporate America it meant Business causal top, with nice jeans, and shoes where the wild card. If you have oxfords that go with jeans I'd wear them. Polo shirt is CR.

You can also just wear khakis on "jeans day," unless there is some reason why you are expected to actually wear jeans instead of clothing that is just more casual than usual.

Only on TLS would someone start a thread asking if it's OK to wear jeans to the office... on jeans day.
Yes. It's OK. If you're concerned, wear something nice ("nice" means it sold for $100 or more, has a dark wash, and isn't weird or full of holes) instead of Wranglers. If you're awesome, wear Wranglers with a dip can in the back pocket.
As for shoes, leather shoes of some kind. Tennis shoes at work are a no-fly zone, even on casual days.

This x100. At my firm (V30, NYC), Jeans Day meant jeans, business casual shirt (most people wore button-downs, not polos), and nice shoes. I think the least dressy you can get away with are no-laces leather shoes (something like this: http://www.shoebuy.com/dockers-caper/325803/697312).SBL wrote:Only on TLS would someone start a thread asking if it's OK to wear jeans to the office... on jeans day.
