Manhattan DA Summer Internship 2012
Anyone get an offer yet? No word here. I Interviewed mid Jan, and my references have already been called. It seems from previous threads that this doesn't mean anything.

I interviewed with trial bureau 40 on the 10th of January.
They called only one of my references, to my knowledge.
I'll report back here when I receive my rejection letter.

Interesting, do they recruit on a rolling basis then? I have an interview with them this Friday, I wonder how many spots they have left then.

I'm the above poster with the offer. Thank you. Interview was mid-January, T20 (but not in NYC), around median, URM, did NYC public sector work 1L summer. I'll be happy to answer any other questions, but I will not out myself anymore than I just did.

When I received an offer a couple years ago it wasn't until March/April, so don't fret.

Thanks for the info; I was already beginning to despair that I'd been rejected by the only job I'm still waiting to hear from that I'd actually enjoy taking.Anonymous User wrote:When I received an offer a couple years ago it wasn't until March/April, so don't fret.

Anon with offer, or anyone else: how long after your interview did they call your references? It has been over two weeks since my interview, and my reference just told me that they never called - not sure whether to be concerned or just chalk it up to the volume of applicants.

Re: Manhattan DA Summer Internship 2012
I interviewed on the 10th of January and they called my references on the 24th.
My references indicated that the ADA they spoke with said she was "recommending me for hire."
Despite that, I remain dismal about my prospects.
For what its worth: I'm non-URM, TTT, Law Review, one semester judicial internship in the criminal term of NY County and another semester with a criminal defense attorney in Manhattan.

I had an interview somewhere else today and my interviewer told me that the Manhattan DA's office called her (as a reference) about one of her former interns today. So they're still calling references.

Any 1Ls who have received offers? I interviewed in late January and all of my references were called. I recently got an offer from the USAO. I'm going to call them to see if my application can be expedited, but just curious about any movement out there.

Congrats! Mind sharing any stats? I'm just intrigued by how their hiring policy varies. Interviewed early Feb, apparently references were called sometime in the past week, still hoping for good news but yea, just curious how you got such a quick turn around lolAnonymous User wrote:Interviewed on the 21st of this month (last week). Top 30 school. URM. Pretty good grades (not sure on rank, but i'd assume top 1/3). Worked for a firm last summer on the west coast - looking to move out to NYC.Anonymous User wrote:Congrats!
