1L summer employment question

Post by hoping5 » Thu Jan 05, 2012 7:01 pm

About me - I am from the East Coast and go to a school ranked between 18-22. I ultimately want to practice law in Chicago (big or small law, doesn't matter to me). None of my grades have come in yet :(

I got two offers so far on the East Coast - 1) working for a judge, 2) working in the public sector.

Should I wait for local law firm diversity initiatives to respond back to me or should I take one of the offers now? Please explain why.

Sincerely,

Confused 1L

Gosh, I didn't know that mattered. She's a federal magistrate judge for the US district court. I applied to a few firm diversity initiatives near my school.

doesnt really matter unless really really good or really really terrible - but i just wanted to check. i dunno, bird in hand is my opinion. do u get school credit for the judge? thats a PRO. also consider talking to judge about splitting if u get diversity thing.
