Every office is going to be on different schedules. You may need to narrow it down if you want any direct feedback.
(I had friends who interview with USAOs over the winter break last year and some who interviewed in March at a different office.)

You submitted your resume to EDNY without a GPA? Are you talking about 2L internship? We are talking about 1L internship.

Yea I'm a 1L. I interned at the DA's office summer before 1L so maybe that helped.Anonymous User wrote:You submitted your resume to EDNY without a GPA? Are you talking about 2L internship? We are talking about 1L internship.

what did you do in the DA's office that was so valuable considering you had zero legal knowledge?

Doesn't matter if you had zero legal knowledge or not. Simply having it on your resume helps in obtaining interviews. Stepping stones. People say it's not worth it and that it won't matter. I think it seems to matter and I think it is the only reason I got some interest.Anonymous User wrote:what did you do in the DA's office that was so valuable considering you had zero legal knowledge?

Re: USAO Interviews
I did a lot of lawsuit related docs, research, and went to court. I took a few law courses in UG and my grandfather was a law professor so I did have some legal knowledge. Plus, legal knowledge is not really something you need to intern at the DA's office. Pretty easy to learn on the fly.Anonymous User wrote:what did you do in the DA's office that was so valuable considering you had zero legal knowledge?

You are lucky. All pre-1L interns at my office ended up doing copying, filing and data entry.

I have a feeling interview offers will go out this week or a little after this week. Just some informed speculation.NoleinNY wrote:Yes. Re: USAO Interviews
Mayhaps. One self-correction, I heard back from LA back around mid-October. 5 sentence letter saying "we got your app; if we like you, we'll be in touch." Haven't heard since.Anonymous User wrote:I have a feeling interview offers will go out this week or a little after this week. Just some informed speculation.NoleinNY wrote:Yes. Interview before Christmas. No word yet. 1L here. I figured I'd get rejected by now, lol. However, do they process background checks prior to an offer, or after? If the former, maybe that is why I haven't heard back... (my way of dealing with a prospective rejection)

Re: USAO Interviews
Depends on if you gave them your SS#. From my experience they'll do a basic check based on other info then do a thorough one if you accept the offer and give them your SS#.Anonymous User wrote:Interview before Christmas.
