shitlaw (?) and lateral options
I got a second round interview with a small firm (not that small - about 20 attorneys...) in NYC.
The entry pay is not that "great," more like the 90-100K range.
The firm is owned and dominated by non-Americans and does international transactions reversed M & A stuff. I will be among the few Americans working there if they offer me a place.
would you consider this shitlaw? the work is very new to me. sounds better than PI and ID work.
I am interested in the types of work, but I am not sure if this is the place where I want to stay forever. If I want to lateral to a "better" firm down the road, is it even possible?

90-100k in NY is very low. Consider COL. You will survive of course, but between taxes, NYC COL, and paying back loans you are going to be cutting it close.

I do have a job. It is finance-related and pays about the same amount of money.

you won't lateral to a "better" firm. You may end up working for one of their clients.
