CFPB Honors Program 2012

Post by drwhoknows » Thu Nov 03, 2011 9:34 am

Has anyone recieved any updates?

I read elsewhere on here that they received 2100+ applications for 5 spots. I applied through USAJobs, and the status there is "reviewing applications." On the CFPB site my status is "sent to subject matter expert." Is this the same for everybody else as well ?

Same, but I heard a rumor from a friend that they have started interviewing. Not sure how much to read into it.

I got an email today saying they were conducting initial phone interviews next week. No idea if they were also conducting them before or not.

Received a call from them today. Got really excited. Turns out they called to tell me I'd messed up submitting my materials on USA JOBS and had emailed them to a contact at the Bureau too late, so I was disqualified. Does anyone know if that is standard government procedure? In all the hundreds of rejections and crap that I've received trying to get a job over the last two years getting a call telling you the employer won't even consider your application is the one of the worst feelings I've had through this entire process.
