Law Firm Choice
Interested in labor & employment law, and was lucky enough to get offers from my two top choice firms. Just from the research I've done, it seems like Paul Hastings really is tops for that area, though Jones Day is very strong in it as well. Anyone know anything about either firm that I should be looking into? I got pretty good feels from both, and nothing stood out negatively. Both have close to 100% offer rates. Was wondering what people think. (Both offices are NY btw)

Re: Law Firm Choice
I had to choose between those two (and some other similar firms) last year and ultimately chose PH. Definitely think it was the right choice. Top notch L&E practice, as well as some great work in investment funds, real estate, and general litigation/corporate. Some other (relatively minor yet possibly influential) things to consider: location of PH in NY is much better than JD (Midtown on Park v. basically Murray Hill), PH always matches market salary/bonuses while JD has that black box system, and PH's dress code is business casual all the time (except when meeting clients/being in court) whereas JD is very formal and only allows business casual on Fridays during the summer (http://abovethelaw.com/2011/05/its-the- ... ress-code/).Anonymous User wrote:Interested in labor & employment law, and was lucky enough to get offers from my two top choice firms. I'd love to hear more about your experience with Paul Hastings this past summer. Any chance you can make a non-anon post so that we can PM each other?

Anyone else have any other input? Does the difference in Vault ranking have any effect here? Or is it too close to matter? Any "insider info" on either firm?
