Hold Lists
Anybody else on hold lists? What's the possibility of getting an offer despite being on one? Was told I'm at the top of that list, but acceptance rate higher than usual at this highly ranked firm. It feels like I'm preferred waitlisted.

Re: Hold Lists
I am on a hold list too. Guess you just have to wait for people (hope for people) to turn down offers. It also means that you just wait and wait even more. It could be 2 days or 2 months (seriously). Just remember- it's never over til the rejection comes. what market/firm are you on the hold list for? I am on a list for a Midwest firm.

On hold for 2 firms in CA.
Recruiter told me I'm in top too.
Seems like I've been waiting forever ...

Did the firms come out and say "you're on hold" or did they use some other language?

OP here. On hold for a DC office. I have a solid offer elsewhere that I may ask for an extension on, but I don't want to drag it out too long.Anonymous User wrote:I am on a hold list too. OP here. I was told flat out that I was at the very top of the hold list. My CB was late in the process.Anonymous User wrote:Did the firms come out and say "you're on hold" or did they use some other language?

Re: Hold Lists
Silence from 7 CBs (DC), confirmed on hold list at several...no offers. Bah, this sucks. I really wish people would decline the ones they aren't taking already. Decline all but top 2...decide...and move on.

Re: Hold Lists
is updating a hold that they're your top choice and would accept an offer at all useful?

Re: Hold Lists
I plan on checking in with my 'hold-list' firm every two weeks or so; just expressing continuing strong interest. I wouldn't ask 'where' you are on the hold list, becuase that can change day by day (eg- someone else could interview and be number one). I think firms appreciate the interest, without sounding desparate or distraught.
