Screener followed by phone CB? Why?
I had an in-person screener during OCI, and now was informed that the firm wants me to do a phone interview with the attorneys...why? Why not just invite me to the office? They already did the screener with me in person so why in the world would I need to do a phone interview?

That is weird.
Are you like on an opposite coast? Sounds like $$$ concerns.
I would actually think it would be easier to get an offer out of phone CB if they're actually serious about wanting to hire you. Wonder why they aren't at least Skyping it though.

I'm within reasonable driving distance, hour plane ride away.
I don't really know if this is considered my callback or a second screener (for whatever reason). Either way I dont see how a firm would ever be willing to give someone from a phone interview a spot unless they really had terrible callbacks from everyone else.

Possible that someone from another office needs to interview you who is not an hour away. Weird things happen in legal recruiting land, just roll with it.
