Re: DOJ Honors
Selected as finalist for EOIR on Avue. No call yet so I don't know if that means I'll be offered a position or I'm just an alternate. What a frustrating process...

I'm also waiting on CIV. Status is still at "Selected for Interview."Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone received a finalist update from Civil?

Re: DOJ Honors
Well, hopefully that means we're still in the running then. I'm personally a little doubtful that I've made it to the finalist round though-- I don't think the DOJ called my references, which I'm guessing is probably not a great sign this late in the game. I guess we'll see soon...Anonymous User wrote:I'm also waiting on CIV. Status is still at "Selected for Interview."Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone received a finalist update from Civil?

Anyone listed as a finalist that hasn't had their references called? I think I'm in that boat.

Divisions have made offers? Mind disclosing which one(s)? I don't think this outs anyone, especially since your comment indicates that it is not you.

If you tell me which component you're interested in I will confirm or deny.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:The one instance I know of, they were called right before the offer was madeAnonymous User wrote:Anyone listed as a finalist that hasn't had their references called? I obviously just wanted to respond to him, since responding to everyone would kinda defeat the purpose.
So I'll just say this: not ATR and not EOIR.

Re: DOJ Honors
Another finalist from EOIR (I was too chicken to check last night). We EOIR people should keep the thread updated if we hear of any reference checks or offers. Hoping the news comes out SOON!

Re: DOJ Honors
From the Avue board:
(emphasis mine)Timing of Offers and Response Deadlines
Hi, all:
The hiring components and offices are in the process of identifying their finalists and requesting offer clearance. "Finalists" include first-round offer candidates and alternates. Offers for both the Honors Program and the Summer Law Intern Program have started to go out and I expect that many more will be issued between now and Thanksgiving. Each component manages the timing of its offers; some already have issued a number of offers; others have not yet started to issue their offers. The Office of Attorney Recruitment and Management (OARM)is not able to answer questions relating to the hiring status of any particular component until that component notifies us that they have met their hiring goals, which may not be until late February - early March 2012. We are aware of at least one office that, due to mission exigencies, is running behind and has not completed its interviews. If you are holding an offer from another employer with an imminent deadline and need to confirm your status, please contact the Attorney Recruitment Coordinator for the component that interviewed you.

Hi Everyone--
New poster here. I'm also an EOIR finalist, waiting to hear if I'll get an offer or be put on the waitlist. I was just wondering if anyone knows the alternate to offer ratio.
Thanks.

Re: DOJ Honors
No idea, but this would be good to know. It'd also be good to know how many EOIR offers will be given out. They listed 31 on the DOJ website, but we were only able to rank 19 cities, and my interviewer hinted that there would only be 1 clerk placed in each court.Anonymous User wrote:Hi Everyone--

Did any other EOIR finalists get an idea of the # of openings?

I'd imagine nearly all components have selected their finalists by now, and it's just a question of offers vs. alternates..?

yes, this has got to be one of the worst hiring processes known to man...Anonymous User wrote:this process makes me miserable
I keep getting excited after I pass each phase and then realize there's about 40 more still left to go through.

Re: DOJ Honors
Components were supposed to have their finalists selected by Nov. 16th, but it seems as if there haven't been reports on here of finalist notifications for a couple of branches.Anonymous User wrote:I'd imagine nearly all components have selected their finalists by now, and it's just a question of offers vs. alternates..?
So far, we have confirmation of finalist updates from these branches:
Antitrust
EOIR
Crim (Not sure if main branch has named finalists)
Any others?

Re: DOJ Honors
the problem is that the number of people still under consideration by some components is so low that this forum might not be any help. Antitrust and EOIR are hiring more than the others, so there's a bigger shot a TLS poster will have info. For the others (and for Antitrust and EOIR moving on) TLS posters might not have any info.Anonymous User wrote:Components were supposed to have their finalists selected by Nov. 16th, but it seems as if there haven't been reports on here of finalist notifications for a couple of branches.Anonymous User wrote:I'd imagine nearly all components have selected their finalists by now, and it's just a question of offers vs. alternates..?
