Should I send some sort of letter of continued interest to a firm if I haven't heard from them within the timeline they gave? A big firm gave me the 1-2 week timeline but its been about 2.5 weeks now. I know they do rolling offers so perhaps I'm on a "wait list" of some sort.
Is a letter like this to the recruiter appropriate?

Send an update and reconfirm uyour interest, but don't sound desperate. I got an offer 3+ weeks after CB even though they told me 1 week. You never know.

Mention another offer, if you have one.

The key is to provide a substantive update. Examples:
--you received another offer (this is ideal)
--you've had other interviews but based on your experience would prefer their firm
--come up with something else
Otherwise, just say you wanted to follow up and let them know you were still very much interested in their firm. It's kindof lame to do this so blandly, but if you must, you must.
