Conflicts checks and verification of transcripts

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Sep 08, 2011 9:28 pm

My offers are contingent on these two things, but how does the procedure go down? Do I need to tell the registrar to send out official transcripts? What is a conflict check?

conflict checks are where they check which matters you worked on in your previous legal work to ensure nothing you worked on in the past conflicts with something you could potentially be working on at the firm where you have an offer. i've never heard of anyone being dinged for a conflict though- usually there is just a memo sent around the firm asking people to "screen" you from any discussion/involvement with the matter with which you have a conflict.

don't know about verification of transcripts- registrar could probably take care of this for you.
