Re: Connecticut firms?
If you're referring to Hartford firms, I don't believe any offers have gone out yet (with the possible exception of Day Pittney).

Re: Connecticut firms?
Huh. Too soon. UConn is the regional big dog, and OCI only begins next week. Most local firms are probably attuned to that schedule.Any offers gone out?
The more prestigious ones like Shipman or Wiggin do actively recruit further out (Boston, NYC & DC), and may have extended some offers already, since many schools in those markets have already had OCI. But they still get a couple of peopl each year from UConn.

Shipman's hiring committee hasn't met yet. Their first meeting is after Labor Day.

Re: Connecticut firms?
FYI: Our first round of OCI interviews starts next week, and a couple of major CT firms won't even be interviewing here until after September 20th.

Do you know when they meet? You say after LD; will they be meeting this coming week? I know for fact that there have been CBs made, and the firm is one of my top choices, so I am interested.Anonymous User wrote:Shipman's hiring committee hasn't met yet. Their first meeting is after Labor Day.

Re: Connecticut firms?
I had an in-office interview through a mail-in application in the first or second week of August. I was the first or second candidate to interview. They told me I would not hear anything until after Labor Day when the hiring committee meets for the first time. This is at Shipman.

Re: Connecticut firms?
Is Shipman's CB:Offer rate just like 15% or something? They only have what, 5 SAs this summer?
Also, after L-Day; they meeting this week? How soon after will offers go out?

Re: Connecticut firms?
I suspected as much. They are not participating in UConn OCI this year. I also believe that their 2011 class has been deferred. They did have SA this summer.Anonymous User wrote:Mass mail ding from Robinson & Cole- fwiw they said they aren't taking SA's this year.

Same; I have no clue what they're looking for, unless they're only hiring the #1 kid out of UConnAnonymous User wrote:Mass mail ding from Updike Kelly.

UConn top 10% here. They're coming to OCI but they didn't give me a screener...YourCaptain wrote:Same; I have no clue what they're looking for, unless they're only hiring the #1 kid out of UConnAnonymous User wrote:Mass mail ding from Updike Kelly.

Mail dings from Jackson Lewis and Levett Rockwood, who both said they aren't looking for Summer Associates this year. Also, mail ding from Withers Bergman (although I think they just didn't like me and might still be accepting application materials.)

Withers dinged me as well; Cummings & Lockwood are cancelling their 2012 program (I really like C&L so that's pretty unfortunate).
Any CBs from Day Pitney?

You heard this from Cummings directly? I mailed them stuff but never heard anything back. (In fact, I haven't yet heard from seven Connecticut firms, and I sent my stuff out in the beginning of July...)YourCaptain wrote:Cummings & Lockwood are cancelling their 2012 program (I really like C&L so that's pretty unfortunate).
Day Pitney is coming to UConn OCI on Thursday.
Unrelated, but a little bird told me that Day Pitney was super late giving out full-time offers/dings to this year's summer class. In fact, they still might not have heard?

Re: Connecticut firms?
I had an interview with Day Pitney already - I don't think it went *great* (you can pm me for more info if you want) but it went well enough; I haven't heard a word from them (either positively or negatively).
I mailed C&L late-July; I had contacted them during 1L for a 1L SA, and they informed me that they wanted me to contact them again for 2L because they were interested. I sent them my materials this july, and then received a letter in perhaps early August saying no program altogether. Admittedly, it was around the time the volatility in the market began, so that may have been a consideration but as of a little less than a month ago they said no-go.

anon from above. Makes sense that C&L would inform you since you had prior contact/were invited to apply. I'm not surprised that they gave me the silent treatment, but I appreciate your info so I can cross them off my "maybe" list.YourCaptain wrote:I had an interview with Day Pitney already - I don't think it went *great* (you can pm me for more info if you want) but it went well enough; I haven't heard a word from them (either positively or negatively).

Any idea when Wiggin's hiring committee will start meeting? Had a callback-style interview with them back in August and was told not to expect anything until after Labor Day...

FWIW I don't have my CB with them until next week. Doesn't mean they haven't already met, though.Anonymous User wrote:Any idea when Wiggin's hiring committee will start meeting? Had a callback-style interview with them back in August and was told not to expect anything until after Labor Day...

Do we have an idea of when S&G's hiring committee meets? Also, do we have an idea if they'll be giving out offers by Friday?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
