If anyone has inside knowledge, I did a screener 2-3 weeks ago, and haven't been officially rejected yet, is there any hope?

I'm in the same boat, too. Obviously lots of offers have gone out. I'm expecting a ding but surprised why I haven't gotten it yet. Has Ropes dinged anybody post CB so far?Anonymous User wrote:If anyone has inside knowledge, I did a screener 2-3 weeks ago, and haven't been officially rejected yet, is there any hope?
EDIT: Dinged via snailmail

Re: Ropes Boston Offers
Is anyone here considering Ropes Boston versus New York places?
I'm at CLS/NYU and looked only at Ropes in Boston (I'm from Mass.) and then largely at NYC firms.
I have offers now at Ropes in Boston + Davis Polk, Cleary Gottlieb, Sullivan and Cromwell, and Simpson Thacher in NY.
I'm really, really torn and wonder if anyone is in a similar situation. I feel like going to Boston this early in my career sorta pegs me as a Boston guy, whereas NYC has way more exit option strength. I probably want to end up in Boston longer term.
Also, I'm interested in lit and while Ropes is super prestigious in Boston, I can't imagine it really stacks up to the NYC firms based purely on lit.
Throw in Ropes super positive reputation for QoL, etc. and I'm torn as all hell.

Similar situation, and I'm going with one of your NYC offers primarily because of the better exit options after a few years in NY. Boston will always be there for me if I change my mind later.

Ropes Boston is known for long hours compared to other Boston counterparts. That being said, great firm and Boston is definitely a different legal culture than NYC.Anonymous User wrote:Is anyone here considering Ropes Boston versus New York places?

Similar situation (plus some great firms in CA), and going with Ropes. Want to work more with tech/healthcare than financial services clients, and enjoy being in Boston over NYC. Also, don't feel that exit ops are demonstrably different between these firms if you know what you want and assert yourself in those directions (though I never want to work in house at a bank or live in NYC). It's more about excelling in the right practice areas for your exit, and then taking the time to brand yourself as someone who is the right fit for that position.Anonymous User wrote:Is anyone here considering Ropes Boston versus New York places?

Re: Ropes Boston Offers
I do not have a Ropes offer so pardon my intruding on this thread, but I do have a Boston offer from GP and am weighing it against a couple of V15 options, so my dilemma is basically the low-rent version of your dilemma. I am probably going to NYC for reasons similar to the ones you cite, FWIW. Ropes may be sufficiently better in Boston that it's a tougher call though.Anonymous User wrote:Is anyone here considering Ropes Boston versus New York places?
