Dude, there are a million threads on this topic. No, mid-September is not too late. If you have a choice, obviously just schedule the earliest you can. But don't for one second think that you are at a disadvantage if you interview in mid-September.

doubtful. this firm is ridiculously picky since they only take a few interns. they pretty much invite everyone for a callback. they are extremely slow to get back to people. not only do they extend a callback to most candidates, but they then waitlist most callbacks. they seem to have some type of rolling process, whereas they make a few offers than wait for them to be accepted/rejected before moving on. i guess this is the only way they can do it since they take so few people that estimating yield is just too hard so they don't reject people off the bat.
there is a thread about them from last season about their inablity to make a final decision on several people, even when told about expiring offers from other firms. they just are really slow so be prepared to wait

And we're now reaching the middle of September, so any movement here?

I had my CB mid-August. Haven't heard from them since, but I'm expecting a ding. The CB didn't go well.Anonymous User wrote:And we're now reaching the middle of September, so any movement here?

OP here, had my CB last week. She said they were doing offers on a rolling basis, but wouldn't be making decisions again until they finished this set of CB's which was gona go another two weeks.

Former summer associate noted that it may take anywhere from one week to three weeks to hear back.

Just curious what people's interests are with S&K? A certain practice area, or the fact that it could be labeled a "lifestyle" firm?

Re: Seward & Kissel NY
Had my CB early last week. I was told it would be anywhere between 3-5 weeks as they are waiting to get through most callbacks but to keep them aware of any other offers. I got the sense they draw out the process to get a better sense of which candidates are truly interested and will likely accept by the time offers are made. I liked the attorneys I met a lot but the wating game is definitely not fun.

Rejected today via snail mail after a callback early last week. I thought it went great and really liked the firm. They had said it would be at least 3 weeks before they made more decisions so I guess they really didn't like me.

I thought my callback went really well also, even one of last year's summers thought I was going to get an offer. Maybe I should have scheduled the callback earlier.

Callback mid September, offer last week. I loved the firm but due to circumstances won't be taking the offer. Good luck to you all!
