The Firm Ding Bar
Got rejected by a firm and feeling bitter and whiny? Here's a place to share with the group exactly why you didn't want that firm's $160k/year anyway, along with any reasons why they were stupid to take that mouth-breathing weirdo gunner over you.

That's completely different. This isn't for collecting information, this is for whining.California Babe wrote:Or posting in other similar threads.Flanker1067 wrote:Probably because those of us with a lot of dings are too busy trying to find something.

I don't want to work for a firm whose partner doesn't even remember working on the first fucking case (and most recent) listed on her firm bio.

14 rejections so far, can anyone beat that?
Those firms are poop though; who really wants to work for Cravath, S&C, DPW, Wachtell, etc. anyway?...

You are better than me, Jenner. You know it. Fuck you anyway. I don't care how progressive you are, I don't care about Lawrence v. Texas, and I don't care about your lit department. See, this is how shit goes:
No Kirkland? Go to Sidley!
No Sidley? Go to Mayer!
No Mayer? Go to Winston!
No Winston? Go to Howrey!
Wait, what's that you say? Howrey's defunct? Go there anyway. BETTER THAN JENNER.
Signed,
My pasty white ass.

Dear Lower V100 Firm That Rejected Me Within 48 Hours,
You probably noticed that my enthusiasm for your firm was a little strained. Or maybe you didn't notice, because everyone's enthusiasm must have seemed short of sincere. Your major practice strengths have to the the most boring shitwork anyone in biglaw is doing. Seriously. While you were describing for me what you work on, I felt sorry for you. Really? That's what you do? All day, every day? I can't believe you haven't quit or killed yourself yet. If the law thing doesn't work out, I think you might have a future in accounting or patent examining.

Re: The Firm Ding Bar
I'm an OOS student now in California, and almost all of my 9 rejections are from firms indigenous to and well-regarded in California. I've got/done a few callbacks with 2 California-based national firms and 2 smaller regional shops, but I otherwise just couldn't get traction with the big California firms.
I've been fortunate enough to land callbacks elsewhere, though, including at 5 V20s. So I can't be too unhappy. But still it stings.
So, a hearty fuck you forever to Gibson Dunn, Wilson Sonsini, OMM, Orrick, Pillsbury and Sheppard Mullin. Also to MoFo mothership, which wouldn't even grant me a pre-select OCI. And why not throw Latham in the fuck-off mix while I'm at it?

I shall generally echo this one, though I have no CA connections.Anonymous User wrote:I'm an OOS student now in California, and almost all of my 9 rejections are from firms indigenous to and well-regarded in California. I had such a terrible time at my CB with you, my only wish was that I could have withdrawn my application before you could ding me, so you would have known how terrible a time I really had.
