Predictions for 2L Hiring for the Summer of 2012
Any thoughts on the market for 2Ls this year? Apart from all the threads about individual students and schools, how are things going to go this year for students interested in Biglaw?

Hard to tell at this point, given that so many people are tight lipped about it. Gimme a couple months and I might be able to provide you with a better picture. Anecdotal: Chicago still ain't pretty.

At Chicago's OCI orientation the three panelists said that they were going to be hiring more this year.

Maybe at the very top firms, but Chicago is VERY painful right now. Just a brutal market.TaipeiMort wrote:At Chicago's OCI orientation the three panelists said that they were going to be hiring more this year.

Chicago- while it's probably better than last year, it's still awful
New York- still improving, better than last year, much better than Chicago.

And the correct answer is not an option in the poll. "Somewhat better than last year" is still not "reasonably well."
