Typo on WS at Screening Stage - Can it still hurt on CB?
So, I just came across a typo on my writing sample. I am about halfway through screening interviews. Despite the typo, I have received 5 CBs so far, and no dings. Can this still hurt me when I do the callbacks? Like, will the person who did the screener make copies of the writing sample in advance of my callback and distribute it to everyone I am interviewing with? Or will I have a chance to give everyone a fresh version of my writing sample with no typo?

I can't imagine that the writing sample gets read before the screening interview. Think about how many interviews these firms do across the country. There's no way they have time to read the writing sample for each applicant. If writing samples get read at all (which I've heard is a big if), it's gotta be sometime after the screener and before the final offer.Anonymous User wrote:So, I just came across a typo on my writing sample. OP here - Don't you think some screeners read writing samples after screening but before giving a CB?Geist13 wrote:I can't imagine that the writing sample gets read before the screening interview. It's possible, but it's also possible that they overlooked it even if they did read it.Anonymous User wrote:OP here - Don't you think some screeners read writing samples after screening but before giving a CB?Geist13 wrote:I can't imagine that the writing sample gets read before the screening interview. If the opportunity arises, definitely get the corrected one in the hands of people at the firm, without calling attention to it.
