Paul Weiss callbacks
What are they like, what should I expect and how should I prepare? My screener was heaps of fun with relatively little serious discussion of anything legal or practice areas etc. so I'd assume the latter will happen at the callback. Are they looking more to verify fit or grill you on your professional interests at callbacks?

Re: Paul Weiss callbacks
Bump.
I'm not the OP but I have a PW call back soon, so I was wondering if anyone (pref someone who already received a PW offer), could answer these questions.
Also, if you have an afternoon call back, is there usually drinks or dinner after, or do you just leave the firm when the interviews are complete?

Re: Paul Weiss callbacks
I had one and got an offer. It was pretty normal - relatively casual conversation with 2 partners and 2 associates. I thought there would be lunch and was unceremoniously shown the door by my last interviewer and told "your interview doesn't come with lunch" when I checked with the recruiting staff! I think there are different meal arrangements for each time slot and mine was 10:00 am; 10:30 am CBs appear to include a lunch. There's a bunch of complicated scheduling notes on this on their online scheduling thing.Anonymous User wrote:Bump.

Re: Paul Weiss callbacks
Did a PW callback and got an offer 3 days later by phone. I interviewed w/ 2 partners & 2 associates, in corporate & bankruptcy. They were all pretty cool. Interviews were low pressure, no gotcha questions or stress-tests, unlike another CB I had with a V5 NYC firm. Most of the time was spent on asking me about experiences on my resume. Most of the rest of the time was spent on my questions. One of the associates who interviewed me went straight to questions, but I think he did that b/c he had a good idea I would get the offer & was genuinely looking to answer my questions about the firm. Basically, they were like long-form screeners w/ no special preparation required. Came away w/ a really enhanced impression of PW!

Re: Paul Weiss callbacks
I was told that today is the last day that Paul Weiss is doing any callbacks at all (at least in their NY office). My speculation: those of us late last week or early this week (me) might have to wait a bit longer, as they may have just decided to wait until they'd seen everyone, then have the hiring committee meet just once.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
