They're nice looking rimless glasses. Dark brown frames would be with gray and navy suits.Kilpatrick wrote:Are they $10,000 glasses?

I suspect it matters, but not in anyway one can control.Bronte wrote:It doesn't matter.

I'd wager this is wrong on both counts. One can control it by wearing contacts, but it doesn't matter.quakeroats wrote:I suspect it matters, but not in anyway one can control.Bronte wrote:It doesn't matter.

Re: OCI: Glasses or Contacts
Ive always worn my glasses to interviews in the past (0L) because I thought they made me look more studious or diligent. Nerdy I guess you would say. Consequently, that and class are the only times I wear them. Never around real people.

What is it about OCI that brings out all these weird questions. If you normally wear glasses, wear glasses.

Absolutely do not wear glasses unless they are Gucci. Gucci is extremely popular in BigLaw; anything else would be an insult to your interviewer.

The correct answer is to wear a monocle.

My point is that if it makes a difference, that difference will be controlled by the preference of the interviewer which isn't really knowable.Bronte wrote:I'd wager this is wrong on both counts. I'd say were the glasses for the fatigue factor. If the contacts irritate your eyes over time I can see that having a negative impact on your mood after hour 8 of answering the same God damn questions over and over again. Alternatively, if you are not all THAT blind you might just go without either for the day.

The next OCI thread (if it hasn't been done already) will no doubt ask whether it is more appropriate to wear boxers or briefs to OCI.

The Guerrilla Tactics for getting the legal job of your dreams (or whatever it is called) says that women should wear glasses. It changes their appearance and adds a sense of credibility to them.
Dunno if you want to take that advice or not and it says nothing about guys.

Plus the chicks in office pornos always wear glasses so I would definitely say that's the most professional look.Unitas wrote:The Guerrilla Tactics for getting the legal job of your dreams (or whatever it is called) says that women should wear glasses. Also good thing you did this anonymous because you may have been the only kid at OCI with glasses on and they would trace this inflammatory thread back to you. Also a good way to mask who is asking stupid questions I suppose and if thats the case that would mean you knew the question was stupid before you asked it.

Re: OCI: Glasses or Contacts
Although I only need them for long-distance (i.e. when driving or reading the board in class), I still wear my glasses to interviews. I have a very young face (I can easily pass for about 18 or possibly younger), so I feel like it makes me look more mature or something.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
