Top 5% ND, Law Review.

Offer from Stinson. I cancelled at HB after they said they couldn't make a decision by mid-September... HB is a slow mover.

Ding from Polsinelli after CB.
So does that mean they wouldn't give you an offer til mid-Sept, or that we all wouldn't be hearing about callbacks until then?
No, the CB was going to be this Thursday, but they said they couldn't make offers until mid-September.
Weird..I'd been under the impression they weren't doing CB offers for another week or two...Oh well!

Same here...... wonder if I should count it as a soft ding or not?

Same. The recruiter, who has been really helpful, told a friend of mine that they weren't going to extend CB invites until after all of their OCIs and after their hiring attorney looks at all of their applications---so sometime late next week or early the week after. If that's not the case, then I guess it's a soft ding...

What is up with Polsinelli? I was surprised with my ding after the CB because I felt like I really hit it off with several of my interviewers. I also just finished by callback with Stinson. I'm hopeful for an offer, but I was told that it would be 2 or maybe 3 weeks before I hear back. Stinson seemed better anyway.

I'm shocked Polsinelli would have the balls to deny you too when you're tops at ND. Do you think it's a self-conscious thing? I mean everyone who interviewed me went to T2, T3, and T4 schools with the exception of one Iowa grad. It seemed like a lot of them started at the firm when it was smaller and less competitive.

While it may stroke your ego to think this way, it probably has more to do with their very small summer class.

I liked Stinson MUCH better. In fact, they were my favorite firm.

Polsinelli was my least favorite, so the ding didn't bother me. The merger seems to have created a lot of growing pains, and a friend of mine that works in doc review said the doc review company is filled with former Polsinelli people.

But my Polsinelli interview did not go well. Given what I knew about the merger, the growing pains, and the people in doc review, I asked a lot of questions about the health and direction of the firm, and those questions were not well received. I kind of expected the ding.

LoL it does stroke my ego, but for reals Polsinelli (in KC headquarters, not StL) takes about as many summers as other KC based firms...around 5 give or take a couple. I just can't believe many firms, especially a KC firm, would deny someone who's top 5% at ND + LR. I'd think someone who's to 5% at UMKC would be a near lock there.

Anything I say about MB will out me, but if you have any other choices, take them over MB.

Sorry to hear that. Via email? I'm just very curious because I am nowhere near your stats (below median) but I have not heard from them yet. Congrats though on top 10% - I'm sure you are having/or will have positive results.

Not a WUSTLer, but Dinsmore and Ice Miller have done callbacks. Don't know if they're finished or not.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
