Midwest T25s OCI discussion/results
There aren't enough of us on here to have school specific threads, so I'll combine them here: mainly for WUSTL/UIUC/NDLS people (I know there is a decent presence from the three schools combined). Post your rank/approximate rank, journal, bidlists/screeners obtained so far (if you want).

NDLS: So far 20 screeners (including OSIPs), and one CB through mass mail. All lottery, with one more semi-legit bidding period to go. Bid Chicago and smaller midwest markets where I have ties, plus NYC OSIP.
10%ish/LR
10%ish/LR

NLDS. Top 5%ish. Law Review.
We're pure bid lottery.
I initially had six interviews in EIW, but I've clawed my way to two more. I've got four interviews in Phase I, and Phase II isn't out yet. Not bidding for Phase III.
I've landed five interviews from mass mailing, and I'm setting up a sixth.

Top 5% @ UIUC w/ LR.
Totally (at least it feels like totally) hosed.
9 selects out of 22 bids
4 alternates, including my top two choices.
A giant throbbing wad of rejections.

Sorry, that sucks. 9 Selects isn't awful, though. What were your top two choices? Just stalk them and hope they open up!

Re: Midwest T25s OCI discussion/results
WUSTL, top 20%, LR, non-URM, non-IP
14 pre-selects
1 lotto
1 alternate
Interviews are scattered among firms in St. Louis (most here), Indianapolis, Chicago, Cincinnati, Louisville, Minneapolis, and central Illinois.
Have had no luck at all with mailings. One rejection, a few "Thanks for your submission" letters, and tons of silence.

Anyone else feel like things are moving slooooowly with a lot of Midwestern firms?

I feel like things are moving slowly with all firms. I've sent out around 75 letters, and I've gotten two rejections and six callbacks. Otherwise, for almost 90%, silence...romothesavior wrote:Anyone else feel like things are moving slooooowly with a lot of Midwestern firms?

WUSTL, 13/22, 12 preselects and 1 lotto.
20%, IP, no journal, no WE, non-URM.
Interviews from Chicago to Texas to Atlanta to New York and also several places within that square.
Biglaw (for the city) CB from home market coming up through unsolicited resume send, heard nothing else. Only sent out about 15 apps though, largely relying on excellent ties to home market or two and patent fair.

Umm, you have six callbacks. I don't think you can really complain about the silence or the lack of movement.theantiscalia wrote:I feel like things are moving slowly with all firms. Re: Midwest T25s OCI discussion/results
I'm the first anon with 12 selects. One possible reason I think I didn't get that many interviews is that I'm not from Illinois and I think my resume is pretty centered around my home market. On firms that offered to interview for multiple offices I put my preference as my home market, and I didn't get interviews at all at two of those firms. No clue if this is the reason but its the best reason I've thought of.RMstratosphere wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Preselects are out at UIUC.

Also I only bid on BigLaw firms in Chicago and my home market. Some people have more interviews but are also interviewing in nearby markets like St. Louis and Indianapolis.
That said, I did get most of my first choice interviews. I got an interview at Kirkland for example, but not dla piper. Can't say I'm too sad about that.

Re: Midwest T25s OCI discussion/results
I'm the anon from UIUC with 22 selects. Some of my interviews are for secondary markets but 16 are for Chicago biglaw. I have no idea about the disparity--I had some good internships that might make my resume slightly more attractive--but I'm not sure that that makes up for it entirely!

Re: Midwest T25s OCI discussion/results
So what's the deal with the Midwest right now? I've heard things in Chicago haven't turned around as much as NY/East Coast. Is this having a ripple effect on the secondary markets like St. Louis, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Detroit, etc.?
I'm trying to get back to the Midwest, but obviously ITE this is easier said than done. Anyone have any insight?

Top 2% at Iowa:
Bid on about forty firms (Minneapolis, Chicago and secondary markets) got about thirty preselects. Our lottery hasn't run yet.
Mass-mailed about 70 firms and heard absolutely nothing.
