NALP directory search for 1L employers accurate?
I am putting a list together of potential firm employers for 1L summer. I have been modifying my search for firms that hire 1Ls. I am wondering if these are the only (nalp) firms that actually hire 1Ls. For example in florida there are 66 firms that show up, but only 10 that hire 1Ls. Some firms like Greenberg Traurig don't show up when you search for firms that hire 1Ls, but on their nalp profile they just have the section about hiring 1Ls blank as opposed to saying yes or no. Are the results I am getting accurate for nalp firms that hire 1Ls (10 in FL, 8 in GA, 8 in AL) or is there a better way to search? Martindale?

Very few firms hire 1Ls, but you don't really need to limit yourself to firms that say they do. Fire off emails everywhere, they might change their mind if you look great to them, may have changed their mind since submitting data to NALP, or may look upon it favorably a year later when you apply for 2L summer to see you were interested 1L year too.
