Cravath wants UG transcript
...and I'm curious how the UG transcript factors into an ultimate hiring decision. It seems odd to me that they ask for it in the first place, given that they're the only top firm that wants it. Especially since many people take a significant chunk of time off between UG and LS - or have an entirely different career before entering LS - I don't understand its real relevance.
Is it a tiebreaker? Can anyone who has previously interviewed with Cravath speak to this?

This policy seems like it would hurt splitters. Still, who knows if they actually look at the UG transcripts.Anonymous User wrote: they don't ask for LSATs.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. I mean - if you did well during 1L and scored an interview, who cares about UG?shoeshine wrote:This policy seems like it would hurt splitters. Still, who knows if they actually look at the UG transcripts.Anonymous User wrote: they don't ask for LSATs.
They're asking me to bring a physical copy to the interview, so who knows if they'll even ask for it. But UGH do not want to spend $30 on the ordering fee!

Out firm = totally out self. Its probably not a place you are likely to apply.Verity wrote:Kindly out this firm.Anonymous User wrote:I had a firm ask me for my LSAT score, no lie.

I'm sure you're not the only one they've asked for an LSAT score.Anonymous User wrote:Out firm = totally out self. Its probably not a place you are likely to apply.Verity wrote:Kindly out this firm.Anonymous User wrote:I had a firm ask me for my LSAT score, no lie.

Re: Cravath wants UG transcript
This has to be the most neurotically niche question I have ever seen on TLS. They mostly do it because their recruiting strategy involves a lot of puffery and uniquelt obnoxious decisions. Their callbacks are also often 2x+ the length of other firms.
Why?
Because.

Does Cravath require an UG transcript from students at every school? At MVP, haven't seen any indication that they do.

Re: Cravath wants UG transcript
I go to MVP.. they asked for mine along with my application materials, and I know from friends that they asked for it at least one of CCN too (it explicitly said on their symplicity page that they wanted undergrad transcripts). When I did the callback, no one mentioned it, and the interviewers didn't appear to have it in their packets (but I can't be certain). I think it's more of a pre-callback vetting thing than anything else.Anonymous User wrote:Does Cravath require an UG transcript from students at every school? Re: Cravath wants UG transcript
At Northwestern, their Symplicity page does not ask for undergrad transcripts. I have a feeling they don't even want to see the kind of TTT GPAs Northwestern lets in.Anonymous User wrote:Does Cravath require an UG transcript from students at every school?
