Inflammatory Interests on Resume Forum

Should I put "Skeet Shooting" on an otherwise stellar resume? It's a unique hobby that I could bond with someone over, but on the other hand, chances that my screening interviewer do it are slim. Do you think it would turn someone "not into guns" off from me altogether, or would they just ignore it? Interviewing in Southern California, not a southern state.

As a southern californian who's not really into guns (but not a law firm recruiter), I'd say you're okay leaving it on. It could be a talking point. I think that hunting could be controversial... ? but skeet shooting seems fine

What is "IBT"? And the anonymous feature is to preserve my identity when a recruiter sees a unique interest on a resume in this market, and can link it with my other posts to figure out exactly what school I go to.

Thanks hurdles. One thing I'm worried about is if you don't know what that is, you might think I shoot animals or something. Even worse with trap shooting, sounds like I trap something and shoot it?

I am incredibly not a gun person and I know what skeet and trap shooting are (at the very least, I know there are no animals involved). If you were referring to killing animals, you'd put some form of 'hunting' as your interest, not 'shooting,' right?
