How to prepare for a firm's pre-OCI reception
I'm sure there may be threads on this but I don't remember one recently and I want to get some advice from some of the regular posters on this board. What usually comes up in conversations at these events? What kind of things should I know about the firm?

I think you just need to be prepared to have a normal conversation. I'd try to talk about things other than law school myself.
In an informal setting, where you haven't handed your resume out to anyone, it's highly unlikely it matters. Just be loose and have fun.

Eat several small meals, evenly spaced throughout the day before. Then don't eat anything for two hours before.

I went to one of these last year and I had too much sushi. See I love sushi and I couldn't stop. While everyone else was shmoozing, I was eating sushi. I didn't get a callback, but man, I ate some fucking good sushi.

I plan to arrive with a ghetto blaster playing "Don't Stop me Now" by Queen.
Good plan?
