This question may be addressed on some other thread, but I can't use TLS' search function very well.
I am visiting my home market, where I want to practice, the week before OCI and am hoping to land some interviews at firms while home. At most of the firms I am applying to I have a contact who I will be sending my application materials to. I don't personally know these people, but they offered to receive and forward my materials (they know a family member). When I send my materials to them, should the letter/email I send be a full cover letter or something shorter just thanking them for their help and telling them when I will be in town etc.?
