3.08 at Duke 2L Summer Options
We don't release ranks, but 3.08 at Duke puts me well below the median class grade of 3.3. I am on Moot Court and we have not heard about journals yet but with my GPA Im not optimistic. I obviously know that I have dug myself into a hole here. What are my options for 2L summer? Any chance at firms (not necessarily Vault) in small markets? What should I look into?

OP here. I'd prefer not to say, because it might give away who I am to anyone from Duke reading this. I will say that is a larger city that is not a premier legal market such as NYC, DC, or Chicago.jawsthegreat wrote:[

*Bump*
I feel your pain man, 3.0 at Duke. Do you happen to know what GPA = bottom 10%/bottom quarter? Also, to the general TLS people who see this, I don't really have any interest thus far in litigation and am mostly bidding on NYC firms that have stronger transactional departments and bigger summer classes, is that the way to go? If a firm has a 40 person summer class and is not as grade conscious, is a 3.0 STILL too low to even have a shot from Duke?

I'd say this much:
If you're on moot court, you may want to play up your interest in litigation.
