Hey guys --
I'm looking at smaller boutique firms to work at (especially public service law firms) next summer. I ran across one that I'm salivating over. But when they list on their site what you should send in, all they mention is a resume, transcript, list of references, and writing sample -- no cover letter.
I'm a bit confused, haha. Are cover letters just a "given" and that's why it's not mentioned? Or will they be irritated if I send one in when they didn't ask for one? The firm only accepts 4-5 summer associates and they're in northern California (meaning I'll be competing against Berkeley/Stanford students), so I want to make sure to get this right.
Thanks!

Re: No cover letter?
I would write a CL. Shows you're serious. CLs also act as an additional writing sample. Good luck!
