CCBA Minority Job Fair
Is anybody else having trouble logging on to bid for employers on the CCBA Symplicity site?

Yes, I'm having problems too. You think this is a problem with the site? I thought I had uploaded my resume before the deadline...but now this has me thinking I somehow forgot to do it.

I think it is a site issue. I uploaded my resume before the deadline too. Unless I did not do so correctly but I do not see how I could've messed up uploading a pdf.

I definitely uploaded my resume before the deadline. I think it's a site issue. I emailed them, let's see when they get back.

Alright, I just got in. So I guess the site is fixed.
On another note, has anyone had success at this job fair, and if so, what level of school and class rank do you need?

Can anyone give tips on the best way to bid for this sort of job fair? Should we bid on firms that will also be at OCI? Or is this a time to bid on outside firms?

Re: CCBA Minority Job Fair
I am not sure how to bid, other than focusing on firms I personally like and have big classes. It's 50% preselect, so that somewhat lessens the importance of bidding.
I have a question about the additional documents: are these things to be brought with you to the interviews? The site does not allow you to upload anything other than a resume right? Or are you somehow supposed to combine everything into your resume document. If anyone has experience on this, and can respond quickly, I would greatly appreciate it. I will try emailing the organizers, but I doubt they will get back to me before the deadline to bid.
for example, Jones Day requires: "Please submit unofficial transcript when submitting resume. **Please list on resume preferred office location.** Bring writing sample to the interview." How do you do that? Does anyone know a way to append two .pdf files together (for free)?

Re: CCBA Minority Job Fair
my bid strategy was to bid half on big firms with big classes and half on firms that I liked and those that seemed to have less stringent requirements, not requirements like: WE DEMAND TOP 10 PERCENT AND LAW REVIEW OR ELSE!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111

Re: CCBA Minority Job Fair
Did either one of you Holly or Oban bid firms, like Jones Day, which require you to submit additional information? And if so, did you create a pdf file that had more than just your resume and submit it as your resume? Thanks!
Oh, sorry to hear that Holly.

Did anyone figure out about the required documents? Do we just need to put it all in one PDF file?

So I'm not really sure, but just wondering if someone could give me an answer. Should we not use bids on firms that are coming to our school's OCI?

Re: CCBA Minority Job Fair
The way I see it, is that there's no reason not to use all the bids. So I definitely prioritized bids on firms with big classes that are not coming to my OCI, and then, bid on some that are coming to my OCI. I think I may even find out the results of this before my OCI bids are due, so there is no reason not to save bids for OCI.dusk2k2 wrote: Should we not use bids on firms that are coming to our school's OCI?
Yeah, I really hope someone knows with respect to the documents. For some, it seems pretty clear that they want it at the interview, but with others it's really unclear, and Jones Day seems like they want it all as one. But I have no idea how to combine my resume with my pdf transcript. Anyone with answers?? Hopefully someone knows before tomorrow.

Has anyone tried to log in since bidding? I just tried and it said my account is disabled which I hope means it's just disabled temporarily until results for bidding come in.

Student accounts are currently disabled as initial schedules are still being created. Students will receive an e-mail once accounts are enabled, which we expect to happen by the end of this week.
