Professional work experience + Engineering background (and IP interest). Not particularly picky on market but ideally Boston. What Vault range am I looking at?

If I were you, I would get historical placement data from career services.
Most likely, you would still be competitive with all firms outside of the the 10-15 most selective ones (which are not necessarily the V10-15).
