I'm a rising 2L at Cornell with a 3.3 GPA in the fall. Unfortunately after the spring I now have a 3.1 cumulative GPA. Median is 3.3 top 5% is 3.78 top 10% is 3.73.
Do I have any chance at OCI and can anyone calculate my approximate class rank percentile?

Assuming it's a perfect normal distribution, which it isn't, you'd be about bottom quarter.Anonymous User wrote:I'm a rising 2L at Cornell with a 3.3 GPA in the fall. Unfortunately after the spring I now have a 3.1 cumulative GPA. Median is 3.3 top 5% is 3.78 top 10% is 3.73.

Definitely not good, but not out of the ball game.

I'm also a rising 2L at Cornell with a 3.4 in the fall and now with a cumulative of 3.2. I'm resigned to the fact I may have to give up on big law unless (maybe even if) I make law review.
This sucksssss. I worked so hard.

Do your research on bidding. 3.2 is a lot better than 3.1.Anonymous User wrote:I'm also a rising 2L at Cornell with a 3.4 in the fall and now with a cumulative of 3.2. I'm resigned to the fact I may have to give up on big law unless (maybe even if) I make law review.

Similar position to y'all (3.31). My only advice is to talk to Dean DeRosa or Suzanne Hess about how to spin any less than desirable grades (that's my plan anyway). And trying to remain confident without getting our hopes up.

My advice for you all is that in addition to OCI, send TARGETED mailings to regional big/midlaw firms in smaller markets in which you have ties to.
