What would you say the job prospects for someone around the top 10% at Iowa are?
Both for second year SAs and post graduations? I was thinking DC, Dallas, and Chicago. I'm from the Midwest and did undergrad in Texas. I would preferably like something business/finance law oriented (e.g. Antitrust, Tax, or business litigation).

Chances aren't great. Apply to the firms in Minnesota and Iowa, and maybe a few in Chicago that may take an Iowa student. You are probably going to get auto-dinged on the east coast for having Iowa on your resume, not to mention Texas. However, you should do well in Texas and the midwest. Good luck!

OP, with top-10% you're probably in the game for any firm that does OCI at Iowa. I'd imagine most of those are in Chicago, Des Moines and MPLS/StP, but I don't really know. If any West/East Coast or TX firms do OCI at Iowa, you're in the game there, too. If not, you're welcome to direct apply. While you won't get "auto-dinged," you probably will have to explain what ties to the area you have since you're applying out of market from a non-T14 school.

Re: Iowa Top 10%
You would generally need top 5% from Iowa in the markets you specified, in the current economic climate. It's entirely possible though. Make sure you also apply to smaller markets in the midwest (or anywhere else you have a connection to)...
